Es wird verwendet, um Singlemode- oder Multimode-Glasfaserkabel mit SC\/UPC-FC\/UPC-Anschl\u00fcssen zu verbinden, die haupts\u00e4chlich in Verteilerrahmen verwendet werden und Patchkabel mit Pigtails verbinden, die mit optischen Kabeln verschwei\u00dft sind. Singlemode-Adapter bestehen aus einem Bronzegeh\u00e4use und Keramikh\u00fclsen und sind pr\u00e4ziser als Multimode-Adapter.
