Singlemode adapters are made of bronze housing and ceramic sleeves and it is more precise than multimode adapter. FC and SC connectors are the most popular among connectors used in fiber optic installation.

Singlemode fiber has a small core diameter that supports only one mode of light. Signal is traveling in a single light beam with close to none reflection. Low reflection ratio means lower dispersion. That makes them perfect for long distance because signal can be transmitted without usage of fibre amplifier even to 100 km.
